SAIDIA is selling a limited edition of prints of Samburu dancers by the English artist, Vicki Olverson. Vicki studied art at Southport and Cardiff and has lived and worked in Ireland and UK since 1980.

Her work focuses on graceful, ceramic sculptures, usually of female figures, and highly energetic, coloured drawings of figures and land or seascapes. She is a figurative artist whose work recalls Maillol and Modigliani and shows a subtle appreciation of the sculptural form.

After a chance meeting between Vicki and SAIDIA's then director, Kate Macintyre, Vicky spent several weeks travelling with SAIDIA, attending mobile clinics and local ceremonies, including a wedding. The prints are of the dancers at this wedding.

Vicki is allowing us to sell a limited edition of her drawings to raise money for SAIDIA and we aim to raise $30,000 in the next few months. Up to 35 of each print is being sold. They are printed on high quality, acid-free paper with double matt surrounds in black or red, with white inner matt. These will be safely packed for transport in cellophane and padded envelopes. The artist has signed each print and the limited edition registration is shown on the bottom left hand side of the reproduction.

The prints come in two sizes - 8 x 10 inch (£32 / $55) and 5 x 7 inch (£26 / $45).
